Faking Cameras

Recently, some of the stuff that were lying around in our building started disappearing. After gathering together with some of the neighbours, we came to realize that we probably have a thief wandering around and that we have to find a solution. I suggested to make a fake camera that will look like it is turned on when sensing someone entering the building and started planning and gathering the materials in order to build it. At the beginning I thought that a motion sensor will act as a switch but at some point I realized that this kind of sensors requires digital intervention so I decided to go with a simple switch.

Fabricating the devices

I wanted to make 5 cameras to be sure that the one I will use would actually look as close as I can to a real one. After planning and drawing I defined 6 steps to complete the process:

Connecting the electrical circuit

After realizing I am not ready to work with the motion sensor I created a circuit of 6 LED lights and a resistor. My board did not fit to the narrow pipe and after connecting the LEDs without the board I decided it is too risky to rely on loose wires. I then connected a simple electrical circuit with one LED as you can see below.
