In the last couple of weeks I have been working on 2 different experiences. Here are the briefs accompanied by screenshots:
The Triangle Factory Project
This coming Saturday is march 25th, exactly 106 years after the horrible tragedy of the triangle shirtwaist factory. In order to honor the event and to wonder what has changed between now and then, we will project an art piece on the building. You are most welcome to join us and see the full experience.
For creating the experience I used MakeHuman, Mixamo and Unreal in order to create realistic characters to project on the windows. This is still in progress and will hopefully look much better in a few days. This is only one part of the visuals that will be projected on the building in order to create a full and immersive experience.
I am working on building my “Time Machine”, a VR experience that will let you go back in time and see, feel and interact with the same physical place you are in, 100 years ago. The first experience will be in the NYC subway and will start by going into today’s subway station and taking a subway ride. The subway car will transition, while you are in it, into a 1920’s car that will drop you off in an old station. The first prototype will be ready in 10 days, containing the modeled environment (not yet fully detailed) and characters both from today and from the past. This piece will explore the feelings and sensations of experiencing VR in a driving subway car.
