07 Feb Fire.
Today I took the time to spend hours in the micro studio. I tried many vive experiences and came back with some insights:
- The interaction is, in many cases, not that intuitive. The controllers themselves though, are very well designed and offer a lot of options that nobody uses!
- People can achieve outstanding qualities using photogrammetry. This is definitely one of the technologies that will get better and more accessible in the next few years. I would really like to explore that field more.
- Like the early days of cinema, we can basically see two approaches to VR: some of the experiences try to document our reality, allowing us to see it from a different angle. Some of the experiences though, try to create alternative realities and expose us to scenes that we cannot experience in real life.
I would like to find the boarder. Giving people the opportunity to see our reality, our world, and yet to experience things and layers that we cannot see or interact with in our daily lives.
That is way I created this piece, using unreal’s most real rendered apartment I could find and burn it to ashes, giving myself the extreme experience of being in an apartment in the middle of a big fire.
