Final Project Proposals

CONTROL | ABA (father)

My father is an engineer by education and is really into technology. He is an early adopter of consumer products and very interested specifically in smart homes. He likes spending his time exploring new products and connecting / hacking things together. For sometime I have been thinking about using our smart watches as remote controls for smart homes. I believe this product can be very helpful for him and can allow us exploring new fluent and native interactions. Smart watches are still, in my opinion, in the midst of defining their good use cases, I believe this project can offer an alternative.

When friends of mine come to visit from Israel, they usually find the city difficult to navigate in. Ishay, a good friend of mine, came to visit me a few months ago. This was his first trip to New York. Ishay loves exploring new cities and meeting new people. Coming to a new place can be overwhelming and I believe there is not enough good solutions, specifically in New York. I would like to use augmented reality technologies to offer tourists with a good solution for understanding and finding their way in New York’s public transportation.

I have an obsession with history and specifically with the history of New York. I find the energy of this city very unique and would like to find a way to explore that. For a long time I have been dreaming to develop an experience to allow us to go back in time and see the city the way it was in the past. I would like to explore how can we convey the feeling we are traveling in time. Using augmented reality I believe we can provide people with a glimpse to the past of the city.
